If you’re ready to explore the beautiful Black Hills via snowmobile, look no further than Trailshead Lodge. We are your gateway to a winter wonderland. We have single snowmobiles and double snowmobiles available to rent. The single snowmobiles are Polaris Indy 550 and the double snowmobiles are Polaris Indy 550 LXT ES.
Polaris Indy 550 (Single)
Price: $250/day
The Polaris Indy 550 is great for snowmobiling through the Black Hills. This snowmobile is purpose-built for trail and touring riders. The Polaris Indy 550 comes with very comfortable seats which are great for long trail rides through the Black Hills, It is equipped with confidence-inspiring skis and integrated storage for all your Black Hills trail ride needs.
* Snowmobile rentals need to be returned with a full tank of gas.
Polaris Indy 550 LXT ES (Double)
Price: $275/day
The Polaris Indy 550 LXT ES is great for snowmobiling through the Black Hills with someone. This snowmobile is purpose-built for trail and touring riders who like to ride together through the beautiful trails in the Black Hills of South Dakota. The Polaris Indy 550 LXT ES comes with very comfortable seats which are great for long trail rides through the Black Hills, It is equipped with confidence-inspiring skis and integrated storage for all your Black Hills trail ride needs.

Snowmobile Rental Details
*Rental Day is 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
*Pricing includes helmet rental
*Clothing rental available.

*credit card (no Debt Cards and No AMEX) information needed to reserve sled. Need driver’s license and Credit Card (no Debt cards or AMEX) upon arrival for rental. The Credit Card needs a high enough limit to be able to charge a $3000 deposit per machine. If you have a reservation and arrive without the ability to be able to put that much of a deposit on a credit card, you will STILL be responsible for the rental fees, but won’t be able to take the snowmobile without the $3000 deposit. The deposit will be credited back to you at the end of the day, if there aren’t any extra charges due to damages or late fees.
Best to call your credit card company and give them heads up about the deposit amount and the date it is going to occur. There isn’t any Cell Service at the Lodge, so if your credit card company tries to text you and doesn’t get any answer from you, they may lock your card up.
Cancellation Policy:
Cancel 30 days or less (including no show) – no refunds/full charge. Rental fees are non refundable between Christmas and New Years, Martin Luther King Weekend, President’s Day Weekend and Governor’s Ride.
Cancel outside the 30 day window, we will try to reschedule you, if that isn’t an option, you will forfeit $106 per machine.
