1/28/25 Snow/Trail Update

Trails are still in great shape all around us. The only trails that are poor are way south on Trail 1 past the warming hut, right at 6 mile road. Trail 2 south of the Flag Mountain Turnoff starts to get thin as well. Trail 7 is ridable by 385 on the east side, it’s just a little rough.

Groomers are going out every night. Temps this week are low 40’s for Tuesday and Wednesday, higher 30’s for Thursday and Friday. Saturday, mid 30’s with 40% chance of snow. Sunday, 23 degrees and 60% chance of snow. Next week the temps will be in the teens and 20s with more chances of snow.

The warmer weather will help set the snow up. If you go off trail, you just sink, this will help set it up. We have plenty of snow, these few days of warmer temps won’t hinder our trails, but will most likely help them.

As you travel to us, you won’t see snow in Rapid City, Sturgis, Spearfish, they are 4000 feet lower than us and have a tough time holding snow. They have warmer temps as well. Deadwood is 2000 feet lower than us and Lead is 1500 feet lower than us.
